Hello to all!

First let me say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!

We are here in Florida enjoying the sun every day.
It's been above normal so far as I know most all of you have had a very warm fall and winter so far.

We both wanted to say Thank you to all who sent us Christmas cards and Holiday wishes.
Also thank you to all for the Christmas gifts.

Brandon and Shelby will be joining us for a few days at the end of the week.
We are looking forward to having some quality time with them. We are excited to have a lot of our friends here meet them as well.
I do know that Brandon is very excited to see Miss Mia again as are Bill and I!
Her parents will be arriving with her the same day as Brandon & Shelby!

As we usher in a new year we wish health and happiness to all our friends and family.
as for Bill and I we look forward to a year of no Hospitals, Doctors and no RV repairs!

Hello again,

Well, we are in New York as most of you know.

We got married on November 6, 2011. Our Wedding was very special.
The weather was wonderful, mid 60's and sunny. Who could ask for any better day!

We did miss some very special people as we celebrated our day. Our Dads: Bill, Carl, and Tom and Bill's Mom: Jackie, whom all had front row seats and were cheering us on. We also missed Ricky who was in the hospital recovering from surgery and Bob who was at home recovering from surgery.

Our day was made special by our friends and family and fun was had by all.
It went very fast and was over before we knew it!

A special Thank You goes out to Shelby for these wonderful pictures.
More pictures to follow when we get them from the photographer.

Thank You again for all the family and friends who helped us to make this day special.

Stay tuned for more Blog.........

Love,
Penny & Bill Lamy

Hello to all,

I know it's been a long time since our last update!

We have arrived in Nashville TN, after a long stay at the factory having our RV repaired.
Now that we are back on the road we are headed south. We will be back in Fort Myers Beach, FL for the winter. Arriving there on Dec.1st.

As some of you may already know Bill and I will be getting married in NY in November.
For those of you who didn't get invited, we are sorry! Our Wedding is going to be quite small the venue is very small as well. Although you might not be there to share in our special day you will be there in our hearts.
We will be doing a post with wedding pictures as soon as we can.

Our hope is that you all are well and enjoying life.

Stay tuned for more Blog......

Love,
Penny & Bill

Hello to all.......

Yes, we had a wonderful time on our trip to Alaska!

You will find this blog very different. There are soooo many pictures
to choose from, we thought that it would be a wee bit easier for you to follow
by giving you a daily journal.

Also, it is very long. Make sure you have a few minutes to enjoy the pictures.

Please remember if you leave a post to leave your name as well.
So many time we get posts that we have no idea who sent it because they didn't leave their name.

Keep in touch.
Lotsa love,
Penny & Bill

Day 1: July 8th - Travel From Billings, MT to Fairbanks, Alaska

Weather: Warm and beautiful

We flew to Fairbanks, Alaska, knowing that it was 10:30pm when we arrived. We rented a car, checked into our hotel and promptly hopped in our car and drive until we found ourselves very tired out. It was 1:00am when we thought it time to close the curtains and close our eyes. Alaska's never-ending daylight makes you forget the time of day.

What a super spectacular place!

Days 2&3: July 9th & 10th - Fairbanks, Alaska

Weather: Wonderful, Sunny and Warm, 75 degrees.

These two days were fun for both of us. We visited a resort called Chena Hot Springs. They give Horse riding tours, gold panning opportunities and have a natural hot springs that flows into a community sized outdoor hot tub. It was pretty cool but truly a tourist trap!

We also went to a Botanical Garden, visited the local parks, had dinner at a Salmon Bake, visited the North Pole and took a very long drive in the Mountains. It was so pretty.

Just some scenes along the road

Day 4: July 11th - Fairbanks, Alaska

Weather: Sunny and Warm, 75 degrees

The first day of our tour:
First excursion to the Tanana Valley Gold Mine, nice tour of the place and lessons in how to pan for gold! We did good. We panned out $42.00 worth of gold.

Next stop, lunch at the Riverboat landing followed by a ride on the Sternwheeler Riverboat. From the upper deck of the riverboat we got to see Susan Butcher's Iditarod team, some Athabascan wear at the Village and a Bush Pilot demonstration.

It was a very fun day followed by a wine tasting dinner.

Day 5: July 12th - Denali, Alaska

Weather: Partly Cloudy/Sunny, 55 degrees.

After arriving at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge we went on a Husky Homestead Tour. Home Of 4 time Iditarod Champion, Jeff King.
The tour was wonderful and fun. It was very cool to hold the new husky puppy, who knows maybe someday he will lead Jeff's Sled!

The Lodge was very nice and the views were amazing.

After Breakfast we headed out for a long day in the Tundra Wilderness, Denali National Park. Our tour was from 7:30am until 5:30pm. It was so pretty there. We got to see lots of wildlife, amazing mountains and rivers. Wonderful!

At night there was a Dinner Theater but, we skipped it and went to bed early! Sooo tired!

Day 7: July 14th - Denali to McKinley, Alaska

Weather: Sunny and Warm. 60 degrees

Day 8: July 15th - Talkeetna/Mt. McKinley, Alaska

Weather: Sunny/Clear, 65 degrees

Rare as it can be...We got two clear days to see Mt. McKinley! We got lucky, because if there is any cloud cover at all she does not show her beauty. It was just amazing!

After Breakfast we went on a Gold Panning Tour. Yes, we did find some gold but not a lot. We went to a remote wilderness stream to dig and pan, it was a good time!

Day 9: July 16th - Whittier, Alaska

Weather: Overcast, cloudy, few sprinkles. 59 degrees

Arrived by train to the ship at 6pm to begin the second phase of our Alaskan adventure.
After dinner we roamed the ship. Found out where things were on board.
It's a huge ship! 3,100 passengers and 1,060 crew members.

Day 10: July 17th - Yakutat Bay. At Sea all day.

Weather: Cloudy to partly clearing, 50 degrees.

We had a relaxing day to recover from our ground tour. Did some reading, sleeping and touring of the ship.

Very nice day. After dinner we went to the show, "Do You Wanna Dance". It was a great dance show!

Day 11: July 18th - Glacier Bay, Alaska
Weather: Overcast for the most part and by the Glaciers, very chilly, 52 degrees.

We had a day filled with breathtaking views. There is no way to describe the solitude that you feel being by the glaciers.
Notice the stillness of the water and the mountains, just beautiful!

After dinner we went to the show, a Magician/singer - Darren Romeo - then had us some social time with friends.
Just a wonderful day!

Day 12: July 19th - Skagway, Alaska

The weather was nice. A cloudy day but warm enough for just a sweater. 59 degrees.
We had a very fun day! Bill's Birthday!

We went on a Bus/Train ride. We rode both the Yukon Expedition and White Pass Rail, and had Lunch at the Caribou Crossing Trading Post. The Caribou Crossing was interesting. They had an extensive taxidermy museum, dog sled rides and lunch. Very nice!

The train ride was so cool! It was such incredible scenery with the mountains and rivers.

After dinner I surprised Bill by inviting our friends over to our stateroom for a birthday party! He sure was surprised!

Day 13: July 20th - Juneau, Alaska

The weather was wonderful, Sunny and warm, 62 degrees.

We had a very busy but fun filled day in Juneau. First stop was Mendenhall Glacier, then a Whale watching tour. As you will see we got to see about 20 Whales and some Sea Lions. I did take some videos of the whales so only got a few pictures - but they are good ones.

Got back to the ship just in time to set sail!
It was wonderful!

After Dinner we enjoyed a comedy show, Dan Bennett

Day 14: July 21st - Ketchikan, Alaska

Weather, Sunny and 63 degrees. It rains in Ketchikan 300 days a year, boy did we get lucky!

We both had a very busy day.

Bill went Halibut Fishing and went ashore to a camp where he had a super great lunch of Halibut. The fishing could have been better if the tour guide knew what he was doing, fishing was not so good, sorry Bill!

I had a wonderful day. Visited the spa, went into town shopping and got to lay in the sun and read.

After a wonderful dinner we met some of our new friends for a cocktail, and enjoyed a show called The Piano Man. Very good oldies from Elton John and Billy Joel.

Downtown Ketchikan

Day 15: July 22nd - At Sea (traveling to Vancouver, BC).

The weather was 59 degrees and overcast but no rain. We even got a wee bit of sunshine!

We had a very busy day hanging with friends, packing and doing last minute shopping on the ship. While at dinner overlooking the ocean we got to see a whole pod of Orca Whales, but the pictures were not very good!

Below are some pictures of the friends we made while on this trip. We had so much fun together.

After dinner we enjoyed a band from Rochester NY (of all places), The East Coast Connection. They were very good!
